Abuse and alcoholism are often perceived as problems that only affect men, but alcoholism has been on the rise among women for the last 30 years.

First, the person …
First, the person takes a drink, then the drink takes a drink and before you know it, the drink has taken the person. It’s a of an addiction too. It’s every where and cheap. I drank pretty heavy for a long time but, I was one of the lucky ones. I was able to quit and haven’t had any really bad cravings for it since but, the thought does still run through my mind from time to time.

truth is there’s no …
truth is there’s no such thing as alcoholism/addiction. so-called alcoholic drinking/using is just one expression of a compulsive personality. the key to lasting and satisfying recovery, therefore, isn’t simply to stop drinking and using but, rather, to move beyond the entire compulsive lifestye. takes more work than your typical recovery program but well worth it in the end. anything short of this will leave you struggling with depression and anxiety, as well as relapse.
