    a uninsured person …
    a uninsured person go to the emergency room,the hospital pays the bill so that mean 2 things,1.the price of common medical test/exams are gonna rise.2.the price of insurance/copays are rising for those who are insured. so those who have insurance will be the ones who accepts universal healthcare.if everyone is aginst healthcare how about raising minimum wage so people can afford it but yall don’t want to add to the defict.how bout making it afforable so they can but yall opposed that too. smh

    @GOPofHawaii If you …
    @GOPofHawaii If you think that the Federal Government does not have the “Right” (God Given) to make you purchase a product that you do not want to purchase AND you live in the Great State of Ohio, please sign the Healthcare Freedom Ammendment so we can get it on the ballot. Then it will be an Issue on the ballot for every voter. This will be an Ohio Constitutional Ammendment that says the Feds can not force you to buy health insurance. Google “The Ohio Project”

    It is disheartening …
    It is disheartening that people don’t fully examine the underlying issues associated with our hearth care system. Normally, in a competitive, for-profit system, the supplier of a good or service has to cater to its customers in order to stay in business. When oligopolies are present, as seen in health care, incentives for companies to serve their clients diminish. Oligopolies usually arise out of misaligned government incentives via legislation. We are barking up the wrong tree on this issue.

    In 2011, the value …
    In 2011, the value of your health care plan, will be included as income on your taxes. Yes America, you will be taxed on your health care plan! Sec. HR3590.
    All in favor…..please self deport.

  7. GOPofHawaii Says:

    If only the …
    If only the government’s goal was to provide affordable health care to Americans I would vote for this bill. However, that is not the case. The Feds now can force people to buy health insurance, albeit crappy insurance compared to what you could previously buy with your hard earned dollars. The Feds want people to buy their gov’t prescribed insurance, and if anyone has anything other than what they offer they will tax them. This isn’t reform, it is takeover.

    Simple ways to …
    Simple ways to lower healthcare costs:
    1) tort reform
    2)ban drug companies from advertising their products.( let doctors decide what the person needs not a 30 second ad on Network TV)
    3)have hospitials charge the person directly then the insurance reimburse the costs.

  10. badang1962 Says:

    National healthcare …
    National healthcare would be a good idea were it that we could trust the crooks in Washington.When the lobbyists,the ama ,the fda and overlapping committees
    begin their dance it’s only going to be more costly,less effective and way
    more corrupt.What we needed was litigation limits,prescription drug reform
    including an end to these drug company-doctor payolas and a separation of
    hospital and doctor- financial ownership.This bill wasn’t thought out.
    Typical of our government.

  11. cgoff87 Says:

    @atmdusty The bill …
    @atmdusty The bill does not anywhere state that healthcare will be mandatory. If you would care to prove me wrong, I am going to send you a link to the ACTUAL text within the bill. The government cannot force you to pay for anything you don’t have to, this stuff that you hear about it being bad is just FOX news and the Conservative party making rumors and spreading this propaganda as if it was the real text, but with no proof. To anyone with doubts, go to the Whitehouse website, or google myths.

    aahhhh, health care legislation, good times. I remember why dems droped the public option: so they could get some republican support. Because, you know, if all republicans had voted no on the bill, it would have never passed!!!!….. fucktards….

    @myHome109
    That is …

    @myHome109
    That is why if Americans want real health care or benefits that work, the Federal government especially congress must lose their benefits which most of them do not deserve thinking of congress.
    Other points that should be made for politicians, one cannot enter office with some money and leave rich. The politicians have salaries but most gain much more money from other endeavors that usually conflict with serving the people.
    How are they going to fix Health when they are broken, too?

  16. atmdusty Says:

    @cgoff87
    Bill …

    @cgoff87
    Bill states that Health insurance will be mandatory like car insurance. Plus this bill will not create competition as everyone will be required to have insurance and allow the insurance companies to charge close to anything they can fit through the loop holes.
    I will agree that the concept of the bill is good but the only people who benefit from this bill are the insurance companies.

  22. Taketheride23 Says:

    @cgoff87 The …
    @cgoff87 The reconciliation bill says that, but doesn’t the IRS take money out of peoples accounts or jail them for not paying taxes? How can they pay for everything in the bill it if they don’t get people to do so in some way? The government will force people by taking away your income which is compensation for your labor, and is your personal property. The bill is trying to bully the individual to submit to someone else making decisions about your own body. To me that sucks

  23. cgoff87 Says:

    @getyoasshome Whats …
    @getyoasshome Whats even more funny is how when Bush was it up, nobody said he was doing wrong.

  24. cgoff87 Says:

    @Taketheride23 …
    @Taketheride23 There is nothing in the bill that says you have to get or pay for health insurance. It is simply a option for those who aren’t covered, and yes it will bring competition which is good because it will drive down premiums, but possibly raise them in higher private plans. The overall concept of the bill is good, because as it works right now, big corporations run healthcare and pay the hospitals and choose selectively who to cover. Basically its one big bandage like he said..

  25. teambenjamin1 Says:

    why not make it …
    why not make it illegal for insurance companies to be traded on wall street?
